Cedar top and jacarandá body, delivering a clear, brilliant and well-projecting tone. Standard temple natural tuning, also suitable for temple diablo. Nylon strings only, steel strings available only on request with proper setup.
The Walaycho by Roberto Juri is a charango tuned in D min, one third higher than a standard charango, giving it a very bright and soprano-like voice. It is the highest-pitched member of the charango family, known for its sparkling tone, rich harmonics and agile projection. Compact, light and extremely responsive, it measures 55 cm in overall length, 13.5 cm in width, 7 cm in thickness, with a 28 cm vibrating string length. Despite its small body, the instrument offers an impressive sound projection that carries remarkably well.
The soundboard is made of cedar, providing quick response and a clear, warm and immediate attack, while the jacarandá body adds boldness and definition, enhancing sustain and brilliance. The instrument comes in temple natural tuning by default, though it can also be tuned in temple diablo depending on musical taste and repertoire. It is designed for nylon strings only. Steel strings player should request for a version built to support them.
Perfect for traditional repertoire, melodic lead playing and rhythmic patterns, this Walaycho delivers a sharp, expressive and characterful tone, ideal for musicians looking for clarity, resonance and a lively, high-register sound ready to stand out in any ensemble.
